| | | Shirley Ann Anderson, age 67, of Glendive, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at her home in Glendive after a long struggle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Interment will be held at a later date in the Wibaux Cemetery in Wibaux, Montana. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Shirley was born on June 25, 1937 in rural Dawson County, Montana, the daughter of George and Emma (Sandberg) Burman. She was raised and educated in Dawson County. When Shirley was a young woman, she worked for Western Union delivering telegrams. She was united in marriage to Kenny Anderson on May 14, 1957. They owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Bar in Red Lodge until moving to Billings where Shirley worked at Kuchera Furniture. Shirley and her husband later moved to Wibaux, Montana where Shirley worked as a waitress. In 1995, they moved to Glendive. Kenny preceded Shirley in death in 1996 and Shirley continued to make her home in Glendive.
Shirley enjoyed handiwork, jig saw puzzles and interacting with children. She also enjoyed having refreshments with friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Gardner, Peg Rorvik, Mae Lawrence and three brothers, Bob Burman, Andy Burman and Bill Burman.
Survivors include her special friend and companion, Dave Amundson of Glendive; three sisters, Onie Kiedrowski and June Radke, both of Wibaux, and Rose Janis of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, George "Sonny" Burman of Wibaux and Jack Burman and his wife Sandy of Glendive; numerous nieces and nephews.
