| | | Myrtle Allen, age 88 of Dickinson, North Dakota, formerly of Beach, North Dakota, died in Dickinson on December 25, 2005.
A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2005 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Beach with Rev. Fr. David Richter officiating. Rite of Committal will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Beach with Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach entrusted with arrangements.
Myrtle was born February 20, 1917 in Beach, a daughter of Charles and Annastasia (Piesik) Jandt. She was educated in the Beach public schools.
Myrtle moved to St. Louis, Missouri in the 1930's where she met and married Albert Johnson. In St. Louis Myrtle gained experience as a dry cleaner. In the late 1940's she moved back to Beach where she married Alexander (Ike) Allen. Myrtle had four children; son, Albert Johnson, Jr.; daughters, Sandra Johnson and Margo Allen and son, Gerald Allen.
Myrtle and Ike purchased the Beach Cleaners which she operated for 45 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 58 years and St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Beach. Myrtle resided at St. Benedicts Health Center in Dickinson for the past ten years.
Myrtle was preceded in death by two sons, Albert Johnson Jr. and Gerald Allen; one daughter, Sandra Culture; seven brothers, Conrad, Howard, Orville, Richard, Gordon, Harold and Kenneth Jandt; four sisters, Gladys Everly, Pearl Mormann, Lillian Nierman and Viola Crone; and one great granddaughter, Raschelle Culture.
Myrtle is survived by one daughter, Margo Frank and her husband Daniel of Dickinson, North Dakota; grandchildren, Kari Li Johnson, James Culture Jr., Todd Frank and his wife Jammie, Nevar Frank and Toni Frank; two great-grandchildren, Caelynne Johnson and Micahl Hughes; two brothers, Eugene Jandt and his wife Betty and Larry Jandt and his wife Eleanor; one sister, Bonnie Merlino and four sisters-in-law, Glenna Jandt, Margot Jandt, Opal Jandt and Linda Jandt and numerous nieces and nephews.
