James Steven Anderson, age 50, of Glendive, died on Monday, January 2, 2006 in Glendive.
Funeral services will be held. at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2006 in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive with Pastor Robert Canen officiating. Funeral services and interment will also be held in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Steve was born on August 12, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Sr. and Fleda (Bradley) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Oklahoma City and Weatherford, Oklahoma. Steve graduated from Weatherford High School with the class of 1973. He came to Montana with a wheat harvesting crew. Steve met Viola Scott in Glendive and they were married in June of 1975. To this union, a son James Jacob was born. They were later divorced but remained close friends. Steve was employed by Crisafulli Pump, and later was employed with a seismograph company until he went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad. Steve had been employed by Burlington Northern for the past thirty years as a brakeman.
Steve enjoyed his time fishing the Yellowstone, hunting the badlands of eastern Montana and playing pool with his friends. Steve had a passion for old cars and enjoyed his 1959 Studebaker Lark, given to him by his grandfather, and his 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Steve enjoyed yardwork, his garden, and was constantly working on his house. Steve enjoyed many trips to Makoshika Park, spending time enjoying a barbecue or just the scenery. Steve's family was most important to him, along with his extended family in Montana. Steve was a member of the Lower Yellowstone Chapter of ABATE, and the Studebaker Drivers Club.
Steve is preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Lori.
Survivors include his son, Jake (Joey) Anderson and their daughter Cally of Glendive; his father, Bob Anderson Sr. of Weatherford, Oklahoma; his brother, Bob (Jaye-Lynn) Anderson Jr. of Tupelo, Oklahoma; his partner, Lin Nicholson of Glendive; nieces and nephews, Brandie, Todd, Matthew, Travis, Dakota and Josh.
