| | | Geneveive Carolyn (Meek) Beeler, age 93, of Bridger, Montana, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 18, 2006 in the Wibaux Cemetery in Wibaux, Montana with Pastor T.C. Chatman officiating. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Geneveive was born on December 6, 1912 to Lute and Mary Louise (Shanks) Meek, on the family homestead located north of Wibaux, Montana. She was raised and educated in Wibaux and graduated from Wibaux County High School with the class of 1931. Geneveive was united in marriage to Bryon E. Houghton in August of 1929 and they divorced in 1934. She married Frank L. Beeler on February 2, 1944 in Glendive, Montana. They resided in Wibaux until 1948 when they moved to Bridger, Montana. Geneveive had worked as a telephone operator in Wibaux and as the school district clerk in Bridger. Frank preceded Geneveive in death on August 11, 1990. She resided in Bridger until December 2004 when she moved to St. John's Chapel Court in Billings, Montana.
Geneveive especially enjoyed attending her grandson's soccer games and musical programs and rarely missed an opportunity to attend those events. Her hobbies included crafting and painting. Geneveive was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Cornelius Hedges Chapter #43 of the Order of Eastern Star for over fifty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arleigh, Randy, Alger and Johnny and her sister Leila.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee (Houghton) Mortenson and her husband Paul J. "Bud" Jr. of Mountain Home, Idaho and Charleene Hayes and her husband Robert "Skip" of Billings, Montana; grandsons, Chris Hayes and Casey Hayes and his wife Leigh Ann, all of Billings; great granddaughter, Lexi Hayes of Billings.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Ministries (Chapel Court Annual Fund) of Billings, Montana or the charity of the donor's choice.
