CIRCLE, MONTANA: Virginia Kurtz, 89, of Glendive, Montana, died on October 26, 2009 at the McCone County Health Center in Circle. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2009 in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ponessa officiating. Rite of Committal will be in the Dawson County Cemetery.
Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with the arrangements.

Virginia was born on June 28, 1920 in Glendive the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Molenda) Colbrese. She received her early education at Deer Creek School in rural Glendive. Virginia married Orville Kurtz on April 15, 1942 in Glendive while Orville was home on furlough from the military. She worked in the Glendive Hospital for 11 years as a dietary aid and also cooked and baked there. Before retiring in 1979 and moving back to Glendive, she had been a cook at Circle High School for 13 years.

Virginia was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign War 4813 and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Orville on March 30, 1984; a son, Thomas Kurtz on April 4, 2007; two brothers, Harry and Carl and two sisters, Fran and Rosemary.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Dick) Kurtz and his wife Sharon of Brockway, Montana; one daughter-in-law, Gwen Kurtz of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, John Colbrese and his wife Jackie, two sisters, Janet Bjelland and her husband Dick; and Shirley Bishop all of Billings, Montana; sisters-in-law, Lucille, Margaret, Lois and Betty Lou; brothers-in-law, Donnie Kurtz, David Kurtz, and Gary Kurtz; four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
