WIBAUX, MONTANA: Caroline “Carrie" Mary Meyer, age 95, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wibaux. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wibaux, with Pastor Scott Hojnacki officiating. Interment will be held in the Wibaux Cemetery in Wibaux. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Carrie was born on November 5, 1916 near Carlyle, Montana, one of eleven children of Anton Lazz. She was raised in Golva, North Dakota receiving her education from Golva Public School. After her schooling she worked in the bakery and also at several cafes in Beach, North Dakota.
On June 24, 1940 Carrie was united in marriage to Edward Meyer in Glendive, Montana and to this union two children were born. Following their marriage, Carrie helped Edward with the farm and raising their two children. Carrie enjoyed helping her husband with the cattle, raising many orphan calves, lambs and pigs.
Carrie enjoyed many things, among these many things was crocheting, sewing, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family and helping them out in any way she could. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Meyer; son, Warren Meyer, and eight brothers and sisters.
Carrie is survived by her daughter, Sharon Meyer of Miles City, Montana; sister, Dorothy (Robert) Ekre of Dickinson, North Dakota; brother, Stanley (Beverly) Lazz of Spokane, Washington; grandson, Steven (Stephanie) Meyer of Kansas City, Kansas, and three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Caroline’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
