Stephen D. Carlson

  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Golden Valley, Minnesota: Stephen "Steve" Donald Carlson, age 61, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Regency Hospital in Golden Valley. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive, Montana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Steve was born on July 18, 1950 in Ada, Minnesota, son of Donald Randolph and Bernice (Sperling) Carlson. After his parents sold the "Quikie Café," they moved to Crookston, Minnesota where he was raised and educated. Jack, his older brother, and Steve received a little sister, Cammy Sue once in Crookston and become a close threesome.
Steve graduated from Crookston Central High School with the class of 1968. Then he attended and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Moorhead State College. Following College he had a career in Hotel Food & Beverage Management living in Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Antonio, Texas; Washington, D.C. and back to Minneapolis until his early retirement due to health issues.
Steve enjoyed the metropolitan lifestyle. He had a big heart, sometimes to a fault when living in that type of setting. He liked to spend his time working with aquariums, cats and playing casino.
Steve loved his family, especially his sister, niece and nephew, and all his great nephews and great-nieces and would have loved his great-great-nephew, if he'd ever had the opportunity to know him. Every phone call always ended with "Tell everyone I love them." I'll definitely miss you, Steve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Bernice Carlson; brother, Jack Carlson and sister-in-law, Susan Carlson.
Survivors include his sister, Cammy Sue (Neil) Oakland of Glendive; niece, Nicole (Doug) Wick of Sidney, Montana; nephew, Judd Smith of Fairview, Montana and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nephews and one great-niece.
