Glendive, Montana: Emil Roesler, age 78, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive with Reverend James Hageman officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Emil was born on April 7, 1934 in Dawson County, the son of Christ and Katherina (Leicht) Roesler. He was raised and educated in rural Dawson County and worked on the family farm. Emil later received his General Education Diploma.
Emil met and later married his best friend, LaDonna Jones on November 6, 1955 in Glendive. Together they continued to reside in Glendive where they raised their two children. Emil worked several different jobs throughout his life including; Daniels Oilfield Service and Purity Dairies for a couple years before working for the Montana Highway Department in 1957. He put in thirty-seven good years with the highway department before retiring in 1993 when he started working for Fisher Sand and Gravel for over ten years until fully retiring.
One of Emil's greatest passions in life was harvesting sugar beets. He looked forward to it every year and even saved his vacation days so that he could haul the beets. Emil also loved hunting deer, elk and antelope. He enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard and garden, collecting hats, having coffee with the boys and going to their cabin in Ft. Peck, Montana where he went boating. He also enjoyed wintering in Arizona with his wife. Emil was a wonderful family man and truly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Emil was a member of the Elks Lodge #1324.
Emil was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Katherina Roesler; brothers, Christ Roesler, Jacob Roesler, Ruben Roesler, Edwin Roesler and Erwin Roesler and sisters, Alma Miller, Lydia Entzel and Martha Huft.
Survivors include his wife, LaDonna of Glendive; son, Steve Roesler of Billings, Montana; daughter, Deb Roesler of Billings; three grandchildren, Jill (Jason) Fitzgerald and their children, Braeden, Brogan and Brinnen all of Billings, Sheyenne Roesler of Glendive and Stefanie Meek and her daughter, Layne both of Glendive; sisters, Freda Haidle, Anna (Kenneth) Baisch and Marie Miller all of Glendive and numerous nieces and nephews.
