Bismarck, North Dakota: Sharon Marie Lardy, age 69, of Bismarck passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her home in Bismarck. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach, North Dakota. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Beach with Father Paul Becker Celebrating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Michaels Cemetery in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Sharon was born on November 30, 1943 a daughter of Gregory and Rosena (Maus) Decker in Beach. She attended elementary school at Valley View School and Sentinel Butte and received her high school diploma from Sentinel Butte High School in 1961. Sharon received her teaching degree from Dickinson State University and taught for two years in Cooperstown, North Dakota and one year in Wibaux, Montana. On June 6, 1968, she married Maurice Lardy at St. Michaelís Catholic Church in Sentinel Butte and this union was blessed with five boys and fifteen grandchildren.
Maurice and Sharon made their home north of Sentinel Butte on the Lardy homestead from their wedding day until 1997, when they moved to Bismarck. Sharon enjoyed her time on the farm and was active as a 4-H leader, CCD teacher, a member of St. Maryís Altar Society, and a member of the local homemakers club. Upon moving to Bismarck, Sharon taught pre-school at St. Anneís School and volunteered at St. Vincentís Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family and watching her children and grandchildren grow up. Sharon had a great memory for details of dates and family history.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Rosena (Maus) Decker; one brother, Gerald Decker and one brother-in-law, Rick Kasalek.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Maurice Lardy; five children and fifteen grandchildren, Gregory (Lynae) Lardy and their children; Jacob, Jarrett and JaeLyn of West Fargo, North Dakota, Joel (Samantha) Lardy and their children; Madison, Lauren and Jalen of Killeen, Texas, Scott (Nicole) Lardy and their children; Tel, Shaye and Quaid of Bowman, North Dakota, Brian (Tammy) Lardy and their children; Kodi and Teri Jo of Bismarck, Mark (Susan) Lardy and their children; Abby, Carson, Cole and Cade of Bismarck; five siblings, Yvonne Kasalek of Bismarck, Tom (Anita) Decker of Bismarck, Pat (Don) Hermanson of Bismarck, Rose (Jack) Krukenberg of Minot, North Dakota, and Ron (Carolyn) Decker of Albany, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to Home on the Range in Sentinel Butte or Golden Valley Manor in Beach.
