| | | C.L. Boggs, 70, a lifelong resident of Etna Troy Township, Whitley County, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his home of natural causes.
He was born April 28, 1942 in Etna, Indiana a son of Heber and Dortha E. (Beers) Boggs. He graduated from Larwill High School.
He worked at B.F. Goodrich, Harvester and Lynn Klingaman before beginning his employment with Essex, retiring from Dana PTG in 2005.
In October 1995 he married Penny A. Rodgers.
He is survived by his wife, Penny; five children, Cindy (Jim) Lock of Columbia City, Jackie (Steve) Wright of Fort Wayne, Tracy Rosa of Cooper City FL, Jodi (Danny) Rodriguez of Fort Wayne and C.L. Boggs Jr. of Columbia City; four step children, Prudy (Michael) Moore of Huntertown, Tammy Garcia of Decatur, Shari (Ralph) Vegara of Savage MN and Samuel Jason (Jennifer) Maggard of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Boggs of Columbia City and Stanley Boggs of Louisiana; and a sister, Amanda Brink of Elk Rapids MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Boggs.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation after Noontime Monday. The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
Preferred memorials are to American Diabetes Association.
