CAN MUSIC FROM A CD BE USED IN A VIDEO TRIBUTE
The disappointing answer to this request is “NO”. Our funeral home’s BMI, ASCAP, SESAC and SOCAN licenses allow us to play music in our funeral home over our sound system, but “do not” include the right to “synchronize” music to produce a video or publish it on the Internet. Unfortunately, “popular” music found on a CD and often times requested by the family cannot be used to produce a Video Tribute unless the appropriate music licenses have been negotiated with both the recording company and the composer.
All of the music used by Stark-Welin Funeral Directors, in the production of our Video Tribute, is fully licensed allowing us to play the Video Tribute in our funeral home, on the Internet or make copies of the Video Tribute to be given to the family and their friends.

| Patricia Todd, 83, of 1220 Garst Avenue, passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2009.
She was born on March 2, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Heman and Violet (Rogan) Barnard. On May 15, 1947, she married Leon Todd in Boone, Iowa. Pat was a graduate of Boone High School and was employed at Boone State Bank and Trust as a bank teller for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Order of Eastern Star Magi Chapter #139 in Boone. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband Leon of Boone; 1 son Kurt Todd of Boone; 2 daughters Karen Ambrose of Webster City and Karla Sturgill of Salt Lake City, Utah; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday morning, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boone with Bishop Eric Peterson officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present at that time to greet friends. Visitations will continue at the Church on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family. | ||
