CAN MUSIC FROM A CD BE USED IN A VIDEO TRIBUTE
The disappointing answer to this request is “NO”. Our funeral home’s BMI, ASCAP, SESAC and SOCAN licenses allow us to play music in our funeral home over our sound system, but “do not” include the right to “synchronize” music to produce a video or publish it on the Internet. Unfortunately, “popular” music found on a CD and often times requested by the family cannot be used to produce a Video Tribute unless the appropriate music licenses have been negotiated with both the recording company and the composer.
All of the music used by Stark-Welin Funeral Directors, in the production of our Video Tribute, is fully licensed allowing us to play the Video Tribute in our funeral home, on the Internet or make copies of the Video Tribute to be given to the family and their friends.

| Kristin Welin Osborn, 57, of 1006 Park Circle in Boone passed away at her home on Friday, May 8, 2009.
She was born on May 17, 1951 in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Jeanette (Harken) Welin. Kristin was a graduate of Boone High School, received her nursing degree from the University of Iowa and a Masters Degree from Penn State. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the ACFA, American Cat Fancier Association, and the CFA, Cat Fanciers Association. Kristin was passionate in showing and handling her cats and rescuing any cat in need. Her father Harold “Hod” in June of 1983 preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother Jeanette “Jan” of Boone; a brother Jon Welin and wife Peggy of Seminole, Florida; a niece Samantha Welin and a nephew Seth Welin both of Seminole, Florida. Services will be held on Friday afternoon, May 15th at 1:00 p.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Rev. Dr. Richard Harken officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family. | ||
