Mrs. Vicki Suggs Brantley, age 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from her home in Alanson, Mich., on Wednesday morning, Nov. 21, 2007.

Vicki was born in Russellville, Ark., on Nov. 6, 1951, to C. E. and Wanda Suggs, and was raised from an early age by her stepmother Hermoyne Suggs. All three have preceded her in death as well as a brother, Harold Suggs. Vicki graduated from Fuller High School in Little Rock in May of 1968, entered school to become an X-ray technician, and worked in this field for more than 20 years.

On July 12, 1975, she married David Brantley and they have on daughter, Chelsea Beth (Luke) Nixon; and she has two stepchildren, David Brantley II and Mary Edith (Chris) Hedge. Vicki's husband became a full-time senior pastor in November of 1981, and she assumed the role of a loving and caring first lady in three churches, Westwood Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock (four years), Highland Church of the Nazarene, Highland, Ind.(seven years), and for the past 15 years has ministered in the Alanson Church of the Nazarene in Alanson, Mich. Vicki was a loved, respected, kind and faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She did medical transcriptions, serving many doctors in the Petoskey area for more than 12 years.

Vicki is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Chelsea (Luke) Nixon, of Bourbonnais, Ill.; stepdaughter, Edie (Chris) Hedge of College Station, Texas; stepson, David II of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Sawyer Brantley and Abby, Savannah and Zac Hedge; sister, Phyllis (Bill) Dickey of Belleville, Ark.; brothers, Jim (Donna) Suggs of Belleville, Ark., and Randy (Linda) Suggs of Little Rock; several nieces and nephews, many other family members; her beloved Alanson Church of the Nazarene family; and a host of other brothers and sisters in Christ.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City. Local arrangements will be handled by Stevens Funeral Home. Visit the online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
