| | | Mrs. Marcia Byrd, age 71, of Palestine, died Friday at her home in Palestine. She had been in poor health for the past seven years.
Mrs. Byrd was born November 8, 1936, in Forrest City, and was the daughter of James Audrey Vandiver and Jessie Britton Vandiver. She lived in Forrest City and Palestine most of her life, was a housewife, and a member of the Moro Baptist Church.
Mrs. Byrd married Kenneth Byrd in 1955, and he survives her along with two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Freeland and husband, Keith, of Palestine, and Susan Flowers of Forrest City, a sister, Jane Vandiver Rowe of Louisiana, a sister-in-law, Patricia Vandiver of Forrest City, five grandchildren,
Kelly Freeland, Drew Flowers, Cody Flowers, Josh Pounds, and Rachel Pounds, and a son-in-law,
Randy Pounds of Texarkana, Texas. She had one daughter, Neva Jean Byrd Pounds, and one brother,
J. W. Vandiver, who both preceded her in death.
Services for Mrs. Byrd will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Monday, with burial in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials are to be made to the Salem Cemetery.
