| | | Mr. Gerald Eugene Ashburn, age 62, of Forrest City, died Sunday at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. His death came sudden and unexpected.
Mr. Ashburn was born April 9, 1946, in McCrory, and was the son of Elmer Lee Ashburn and Mary Moore Ashburn. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life and was a metal building contractor.
Mr. Ashburn is survived by two daughters: Tammy Denton of Iuka, Mississippi, and Debra Coffell of Fort Smith, Arkansas, one son, Gerald Ashburn II of Forrest City, three brothers; Bobby Ashburn of Indiana, Jimmy Ashburn of Marianna, and Farrel Ashburn of Aubrey, two sisters; Nadene Adams of Arkansas, and Ellamae Johnson of Missouri, ten grandchildren; Michael Denton, Juston Ashburn, Charles Denton, Megan Coffell, Amanda Coffell, John Denton, Alissa Ashburn, Haley Andrews, Trevor Andrews and Shelly Holland, three great-grandchildren; Anthony Turpen, Kyle Turpen, and Madison Turpen, and a special girlfriend, Terri Prestridge, two step-daughters: Valerie Andrews of Forrest City and Renee Dunn of Memphis, and one stepson, Randle Stover of Texas.
Services for Mr. Ashburn will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, with burial in LaGrange Cemetery in LaGrange, Arkansas. Visitation will be be Tuesday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
