| | | Mrs. Bessie Ambrose, age 93, of Forrest City, died Friday at her home in Forrest City. She had been in poor health for the past several years.
Mrs. Ambrose was born January 17, 1915, in Jackson, Tennessee, and was the daughter of Oscar Gately and Sindy Stanford Gately. She lived in Forrest City most of her life, was retired from Dean's Cafe, and was a member of the Widener Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ambrose married Hoyt D. Ambrose in 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She is survived by two daughters; Delzie Day of Forrest City, and Ruby Brooks of Laporte, Indiana, one son, James Ambrose of Helena, two sisters; Rachael Tanner of Mooresville, Indiana, and Virgie Ambrose of Forrest City, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She had one son, L. C. Ambrose and one granddaughter, Lisa Kay Ambrose, who both preceded her in death.
Services for Mrs. Ambrose will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 A.M., Monday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.
