Mr. George Elliott, age 90, of Madison, died Friday at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. His death came sudden and unexpected.

Mr. Elliott was born February 27, 1919, in Grassie Lake, Arkansas, and then lived in St. Francis County most of his life. He was a commercial fisherman, trapper, and farmer, and was a Veteran of the Army.

Mr. Elliott married Melba Dean Henderson in 1951, and she preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by eight sons; George Elliott Jr. of Newbern, North Carolina, Dude J. Elliott, Jack Elliott, and Curtis Elliott, all of Jonesboro, Timothy Elliott, Harold Elliott, and Michael 'Mack' Elliott, all of Forrest City, and Wayne Elliott of Trumann, three daughters; Mary Ann Townsend of Forrest City, Sandra Flowers of Blytheville, and Betty Ann of St. Louis, two brothers; Pete Elliott of Steel, Missouri, and James Elliott of Georgia, one sister, Martha of Georgia, twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He had two children, Tommy Wayne Elliott and John E. Elliott, who both preceded him in death.

Services for Mr. Elliott will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, with burial in Hughes Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M.
