Mr. Richard V. Boren, age 70, of Forrest City, died Saturday at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He had been in poor health for the past year.

Mr. Boren was born September 29, 1938, in Dell, Arkansas, and was the son of Fred Boren and Effie Flemming Boren. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life, was owner/operator of Boren Trucking, and was a member of the Village Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Boren married Linda Matlock in 1992, and she survives him along with one daughter, Lisa B. Smith of Collierville, Tennessee, one son, Richard V. Boren Jr. of Colt, two step-daughters; Rhonda Peterson and Jennifer Clark, both of Forrest City, one step-son, Lance Powell of Jonesboro, his mother, Mrs. Effie Boren of Blytheville, two brothers; Gene Boren of North Richland Hills, Texas,
and Mike Boren of Dyersburg, Tennessee, one sister, Phyllis McCanless of Blytheville, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services for Mr. Boren will be held Graveside, 4:00 P.M., Monday, at the Loughridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M.
