| | | Mr. M.E. 'Kayo' Grimes, age 77, of Forrest City, died Sunday at his son's home in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past several months.
Mr. Grimes was born January 10, 1932, in Forrest City, and was the son of Waylon Grimes and Elizabeth Jones Grimes Baker. He graduated from the Palestine High School, was retired from Yale Hoist, was a Veteran of the National Guard, and was a Baptist.
Mr. Grimes is survived by one son, Randy Grimes of Forrest City, one daughter, Carolyn Grimes Burdett of Palestine, three brothers; Larry Grimes of Shreveport, Louisiana, Nick Grimes of Collierville, Tennessee, and Keith Grimes of Texas, one sister, Rhonda Grimes Bryant of Memphis, two step-sisters; Billie Ross of Gill, and Wilma Jean Stidham of Oklahoma, seven grandchildren; Landon 'Jocko' Grimes, Hayley Grimes, Mindy Mueller, Jake Wright, Michael Parsley, Hillary Whitehorn, and Candice Aldridge, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Grimes Pratt, in 2000.
Services for Mr. Grimes will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the on line registry.
