| | | Orel S. (Marston) Bair, 93, of McPherson, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at The Cedars Courts, McPherson. Orel was born on November 15, 1915, in Roxbury, KS, the daughter of Charlie Maxwell and Jessica Louise (Laessig) Marston. She graduated from Roxbury High school in 1935.
On July 17, 1935, she was united in marriage to Harold Ernest Bair in McPherson. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1987. She was a homemaker and also worked in the meat departments at Dillons, I.G.A., and the Co-op grocery stores.
Orel was a member of the First Christian Church and the McPherson Kitchenettes Band.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 23, 2009, at the First Christian Church with Earlene Marston officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Survivors include: a son, Steven Bair and wife, Cathy, of McPherson, KS; sisters, Vermoyne Cunningham and husband, Wayne, of McPherson, KS and Dolores Everhart of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ernest Bair, a son, Charles E. Bair; two brothers, Charles Junior Marston and Carrol Marston; three sisters, Arlone Kirby, Myriel Ratzlaff and Guinevere Swedberg; and a half-sister, Ethel Marston Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home.
