Each year, during the holiday season, the staff of Stockham Family Funeral Home sponsors a Holiday Remembrance Program to honor and remember those who died during the past year. The next Remembrance Program is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 5:00 PM. This event will be held in the funeral home chapel.

The highlight of each year's program is the special candle-lighting ceremony and the reading of the names of those who have passed on. Each attendee is given a personalized ornament to place on the Remembrance Tree during the ceremony that they may retain as a keepsake.

Music is a special part of the program and there is usually a sing-a-long of "Silent Night" at the conclusion of the ceremony. A local clergy person is invited each year to present an ecumenical message and a grief/bereavement expert also presents a short lecture on coping with holiday grief. There is a reception following the service and complimentary refreshments are served.

The program is always well attended and there has been a good response from community members and local support groups. For more information e-mail us at stockhamfamily@cox.net or click on the "Contact Funeral Home" button at the bottom of your screen.
