George A. Haver, Jr.


George A. Haver, Jr., a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Monday, January 9, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 64.

Son of the late George A., Sr. and Genevieve Procak Haver he was born November 8, 1941 in Yonkers.

In December of 1962 he married the former Albertina Fenyo at St. Mary’s Church in Yonkers. Mrs. Haver survives at home

George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1986 during which he served in Vietnam. He was active with the Victor L. Bracone Post # 5913 VFW, where was a former commander. George was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Wappingers Falls.

George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Albertina M. Haver at home in Wappingers Falls; his two daughters, Anna Veach and her husband, Edmond Joseph Veach of Lake City, Florida and Joan Haver of Wappingers Falls; two grandchildren, Edmond Tyler and Pyper Ann Veach; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, John Haver and his sister, Pauline Margaret Haver.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls. Members of the VFW will meet for services at 7:30pm at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, January 11 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls.

Interment will follow at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.

Memorial donations on George’s behalf may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
