| | | Joyce was born September 11, 1940 in Schuyler to Leonard and Mayme (Jaros) Viglicky. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1957. She started working as a sales clerk for Dudek Department Store while still in high school and worked there for fifty years before retiring. Joyce married her high school classmate,
Marvin Slavik on October 7, 1961 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie. They farmed north of Schuyler until 2000 when they moved to Schuyler. Joyce loved to play cards, mostly Bridge, and belonged to many card clubs, but her first love was her twin grandchildren. Joyce died September 30th at the Fremont Area
Medical Center at the age of 69.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Marvin of Schuyler: daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gregg Coghill of Omaha; two grandchildren, Molly and Matt Coghill; her mother, Mayme Viglicky of Schuyler; her brother, Jim Viglicky of Schuyler;
and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Leonard Viglicky (August 9, 1976).
Family suggest memorials to Family Choice; Benedictine Mission Home; Divine Mercy Parish; Schuyler Senior Center; St. James Catholic Church in Omaha or St. James Seton Catholic School.
The funeral luch willbe served at the St. Augustine's Parish Hall.
