| | | Edith was born August 24, 1915 north west of Schuyler to Edward and Ida (Ernst) DeBower Jr. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and has been a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Edith dedicated her life to being a care giver to members of her family. She was a member of the Schuyler Historical Society, AAL, Concordia Guild, the Ladies Aid Society and she served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. Edith loved nature and flowers and was a
surrogate "Grandma" to many of her nieces and nephews. Edith died October 12th at the Golden LivingCenter in Schuyler at the age of 94.
Edith is survived by eleven nieces and nephews, Ruth Brauer, Ellen Glanzer, Paul Bergt, Dale Grotelueschen, Jane Runnels, Keith Grotelueschen, Doris Puls, Lewis
Grotelueschen, Karen Ortman, Carl Grotelueschen and Marlene McCoy.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Edward DeBower III; four sisters, Sophie Muhle, Mable DeBower, Gertrude Bergt and Loretta Grotelueschen; two nephews, Ervin Bergt and Walter Muhle.
Family suggest memorials to Camp Luther or Daily Devotions.
Funeral lunch will be served at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
