Marius was born January 19, 1920 at Snyder to Henry and Anna (Hergenroder) Kruger. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1937 and
then moved to Schuyler where he would work for many years with his dad and brother as owner's of Kruger's Bar.

Marius was drafted into the Army June 8, 1942. In June of 1944 his unit landed on Omaha Beach and helped recapture Cherbourg from the German
forces. He was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star. After his discharge on December 4, 1945 he worked for American Airlines as a clerk in Battle Creek, Michigan but eventually returned to Schuyler to continue
working at the bar. He married Marie Hegemann on October 15, 1952 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells.

Marius worked for the Schuyler Post Office from 1968 until he retired in 1983. He then worked part time for Wheeler's Country Store in Schuyler until 1993. Marius and Marie ran the Meals on Wheels Program in Schuyler from 1983 to 1993. He was a long time member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church where he served as Trustee. He also volunteered his time helping
with Bingo at the V.F.W. Hall for many years. Marius was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, the V.F.W. and the WW II Last
Man's Club. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and was a big Husker fan. Marius died October 19th, at the age of 89, at Parson's House Care Center in Omaha where and Marie were residents.

Marius is survived by his wife, Marie of Omaha; four sons, Tom (Verna) Kruger of Clive, IA, Mark (Patrice) Kruger of Elkhorn, Terry (Kami) Kruger
of Omaha, Brian (Martha) Kruger of Ballwin, MO; one daughter, Joan (Mrs. Scott) Magdanz of Falls City; 12 grandchildren, Jason (Katie), Pam (Brian) Sean, Kelley, Katie, Kyle, Amy, Becky, Sarah, Abby, Elizabeth and Rachel; one great grandson, James Kruger.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Hilarion.

Family suggest memorials to Benedictine Mission Home or Divine Mercy Parish.

Funeral lunch will be served in the basement of St. Mary's Catholic Church
