Emil was born February 22, 1914 north west of Schuyler to Frank J. and Barbara (Votava) Oborny. He attended School District #26 and has been a life long farmer in Colfax County. Emil married Wilma S Bukacek on October 12, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Tabor, rural Howells. They lived in the Wilson area until 1979 when they moved to Schuyler, but Emil continued helping on the farm until he was 86. He loved to dance and he and Wilma were members of Harold's Square square dancers for many years. Emil died October 30th at his home in Schuyler. Emil is survived by four children; Marcella (Mrs. Jerome) Humlicek of Columbus, Margaret (Mrs. Duane) Sander of Humphrey, Robert (Sharon) Oborny of Columbus and Ron Oborny of Schuyler; 24 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; one great great grandson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma (11/4/2004); sisters, Mamie Severa and Olga Faltys; brothers, Stanley and Frank H. Oborny. Funeral dinner will be served at Heun.
