| LOCKE, A. Robert “Bob,” April 2, 2009, of Washington Township, passed away after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on February 12, 1920, to Ambert and Nell Locke. After graduating from Stivers High School, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army Corps during WW II. Bob spent his entire career working at the Dayton Daily Newspaper/Journal Herald. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Ruth Elizabeth Becannon and their son, Thomas Becannon Locke. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley Locke of Wilmington, OH; two daughters: Constance Heckendorf (Glenn), Southbury, CT, and Barbara Colvin (Richard), Mason, OH; step-daughter, Shelley Morgan Wilmington, OH; grandchildren: Mark Gabbard (Christine), Scott Colvin, Robert Colvin (Amy) and Ashley Ronsheim; great-grandchildren: Evan and Nola Gabbard, Aaron and Josh Colvin and Madison Monin Ronsheim.A Memorial Service will be 11:30 am Monday April 13, 2009 at Davids Cemetery Community Mausoleum Chapel 4600 Mad River Rd. Kettering, Ohio 45429.
