May 15, 1913-------April 7, 2009 Louis J. Behringer passed away at Lincoln Park Manor on April 7th,2009. Born in Richmond, Indiana, he is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Jill Berkheimer (G. Wesley) of Springboro, Ohio; Peggy Walker (H. Lawson II) of Crescent Springs, KY.; and son Michael Behringer (Janet) of Alvin, Texas. One of 7 brothers and sisters born to Mary Magdalena and Rudolph Behringer, he is also survived by sisters Pauline Snyder of Dallas, Texas; Joann Boksza of Dayton, Ohio; and brother Richard Behringer (Charlotte), also of Dayton. He had four grandchildren; Kristen Berkheimer Pessell (Daniel) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kelly Berkheimer of Chicago, Illinois; Erin Walker Long (Kyle) of Atlanta, Georgia; and Jonathan Walker of Crescent Springs, KY. He also had one great-grandchild, Christopher Pessell. He was married to Charlotte Wierer on October 22, 1942, and they spent several years in Monterey, CA while he was serving in the US Army. They went back to Dayton after he was discharged at the end of WWII in 1946. He then continued his life’s work that he loved at WPAFB where he participated in many projects, including the design and manufacture of items in the Apollo 1 spacecraft. He retired in 1971 after 32 years of service , and then enjoyed many happy years of good health and travel with his beloved wife and family. Funeral Service 1:30 pm Saturday April 11, 2009 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
