Burns, William C., age 78, of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Bethany Lutheran Village in Centerville, OH. He was born in Waterbury, CT on December 5, 1930 to William and Lillian (Ziems) Burns, who preceded him in death. William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara A. (Rech) Burns, of Beavercreek; his daughter, Belinda A. (Lynn) Burns, of Kettering; a sister, Dorothy Mattson, of CT. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was employed as an industrial engineer with Tecumseh Products in Marion, OH, Tecumseh, MI and Somerset, KY. William was a Sergeant 1st Class during the Korean Conflict serving in Germany. He was a member and past president of the Marion Industrial Club, a longtime Junior Achievement
Volunteer and was an avid golfer and animal lover. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Avenue, with Pastor Bob Ashburn officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Hospice of Dayton in memory of William. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
