Rodney Lydell Williams, 61, peacefully joined his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 7:30am. He was born on May 11, 1948 in Washington, DC to Virginia Satterfield Williams and the late Dell Williams. Rodney retired from civil service as an Inventory Management Specialist and was a member of the Ramoth-Gilead Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Donna Madeline Jones Williams of the home, his mother, Virginia Satterfield Williams of Elizabeth City, NC, one daughter, Sherri Flanagan Ramos-Brandt and husband, Henry “Hank” Brandt of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Jamie Williams and wife, Kristy of Winfall, NC and Todd Williams and wife, Nicki, of Belvidere, NC. Also, surviving are, a sister, Carol Turner and husband, Bud of Dale City, VA, two brothers, Dennis Williams and wife, Cheri, previously of Winfall, NC and Kenny Williams of Waldorf, Md.; six grandchildren, Joshua Brandt of Louisville, KY, Corey Ramos of Elizabeth City, NC, Samantha Brandt of Elizabeth City, NC, Brandon Williams of Belvidere, NC, Kelsey Copeland of Belvidere, NC and Blake Davis of Greenville, NC; one great grandchild, McKenzie Brandt, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, October 23, 2009, at 7:00pm in the Twiford Memorial Chapel, Church Street, by Rev. Toni Wood. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home immediately following the service and at other times at their residence, 438-A Firetower Road, Elizabeth City, NC.
