Ralph Henry Holder, II, 65 of 106 Camellia Drive, Moyock, NC died Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in the Chesapeake General Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1943 in Clarksville, TN to the late Ralph Henry Holder, Sr. and Betty Johnson Holder. Mr. Holder retired from the US Navy as a Senior Chief after 26 years of service, having served in the submarine service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 288, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disable American Veterans and Fleet Reserves.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie Rhine Holder of the home; a daughter, Jeanette (Jan) Holder of Moyock, NC; a son, Ralph Henry Holder, III, and wife, Lisa, of Flat, TX. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Ann Irvin of Moyock, NC; four brothers, Francis L. Holder of Iran, Stephen S. Holder of Peach Orchard, AR, James W. Holder and wife, Louise, of Jonesboro, AR and Patrick B. Holder and wife, Cindy, of Peach Orchard, AR; two grandchildren, Grace Anne Holder and Josh Wilkins.
In accordance to his wishes, Mr. Holder will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Holder family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
