Ernest M. Kimbrell, age 80

Mr. Kimbrell passed away Wednesday morning at Pleasant Manor Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Covington, TX. to Olin A. and Flora Belle (Baker) Kimbrell. He graduated from Itasca High School in 1944, and served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He married Evelyn Purvis in Itasca on October 3, 1947. He was employed in construction with Southwestern Bell in Waco and Waxahachie, moving to Waxahachie in 1948 and became a Southwestern Bell installer. He was also employed with the cities of Waxahachie, Red Oak and Midlothian water departments. He enjoyed camping and playing the bass guitar. Mr. Kimbrell was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are: wife, Evelyn (Purvis) Kimbrell of Waxahachie; son and daughter-in-law, Warner and Page Kimbrell of Waxahachie; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Steve Souter of Dallas; brother, Donald Kimbrell of Gainesville, FL.; grandchildren, Jason Kimbrell and Jennifer Souter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, H. A. Kimbrell.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 10 AM Friday, May 6, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend James Wilcox officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Gray, Jerry Wooldridge, Leroy Sanders, Herman Cockerham, John Galloway and Ricky Yates. Interment will follow in the Itasca Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
