| Kayanna Cooksey, age 72, of Lyons, passed away at 10:00 A.M. Tues., Sept. 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 4, 1937, in Linton, the daughter of Orval & Jessie (Fields) Hoover.
She was a homemaker & a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ of Lyons. Survivors include her husband, Roy A. Cooksey, of Lyons, to whom she was married Nov. 24, 1956, a daughter, Tambi Craig of Lyons, a son, John Todd (Jana) Cooksey of Lyons, a sister, Barbara D. Ellis of Lyons, & four grandchildren, Andrew Lee Craig, Katie Lynn Church, Jenalee Cooksey, & Scott T. Cooksey. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Fri., Sept. 4, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, south of Linton, Brothers Matt Baker & Orell Overman officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Thurs. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton & at 10 A.M. Fri. at the church.
