| Willa Jean Herron, age 75, of Indianapolis, passed away at 8:00 P.M. Sun., May 23, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 2, 1934, in Linton, the daughter of Mack Lee & Reymonde (Mazoyer) Perkins.
She was a 1952 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School & worked at General Electric in Linton as a young woman. Later in life she worked at Kmart & Lazarus as a sales associate. She was married for fifty-three years to the love of her life, Charles Herron, until his death on Nov. 30, 2008. She enjoyed traveling to Maui with her husband & was an avid reader. Survivors include two daughters, LeaRae (Yale) Herron-Rice of Zionsville & Jill (Jeff) Childress of Indianapolis, six grandchildren, Niki Herron, Michael VanMeter, Jaimie & Jake Childress, & Hilary & Amanda Rice, a sister-in-law, Vera (Bill) Moehlmann of Linton, & a niece, Terri Bower of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Mark Herron in 1982, & a brother, Billy Mack Perkins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Wed., May 26, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, Reverend Michael Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Visitation will be at 9:30 A.M.
