Mary L. Sheppard, 85, Fargo, ND, died Sat. Oct. 10, 2009 in Manorcare Health Services, Fargo, ND.

Mary L. Scott was born on Aug. 18, 1924 in Maxwell, NE to Frank and Bessie (Johnson) Scott. She grew up and graduated from high school in Sutherland, NE. Mary married Edward Doyle in 1944 in Julesburg, CO and then later married Douglas “Shep” Sheppard in 1956, also in Julesburg. Mary worked for many years at the Spears Drug Store and the Little Brown Jug in Julesburg. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1963. Mary then began working for the Biltmore Hotel in Fargo and later for the West Fargo VFW Post 7564. Mr. Sheppard died on Feb. 2, 1978. Mary retired from the VFW at the age of 71. She moved to Casselton, ND for a short time before final residing at the Manorcare Nursing home in Fargo.

She is survived by two sons, Tom (Barbro) Doyle, Littleton, CO, Scott Sheppard, AZ; one daughter, Sherry Sheppard, Casselton, ND.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at 1 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery – North, Fargo, ND.
