Carl J. Pascaloff
Fargo, ND, formerly Santa Barbara, CA

Carl John Pascaloff, 87, Fargo, ND, formerly Santa Barbara, CA, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.

Mr. Pascaloff was born on July 11, 1922 in Detroit, MI to John and Mary (Evanoff) Pascaloff. He grew up and graduated from high school in the Los Angeles area. Carl received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1944, before entering the US Navy. He served aboard the destroyer, USS Dortch (DD670) in the South Pacific Theatre during WWII, until his discharge in 1945. After his return to CA, Carl received his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1946. Carl married Barbara Fischer on April 19, 1951 in Las Vegas, NV. Barbara passed away as a result of a car accident in 1965. He worked in the aircraft industry for the defense department for several years before beginning work at Delco Electronics in Santa Barbara. During his years at Delco, Carl worked in the aero-space industry for the defense department. He was one of the primary engineers that designed the Lunar Rover Vehicle that landed on the moon in July, 1969. His working notes, of that project, are on permanent display at the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute. Carl retired from Delco in August of 1987, after 27 years with the company. He married Lillian Randall in 1999, she died in 2004. Carl moved to Fargo in May of 2005 and resided at Waterford at Harwood Groves and later resided at Bethany Retirement Living until his death.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wives and daughter, Carol.

He is survived by two sons, John (Debbie), Keswick, VA and David, Ventura, CA; daughter, Joanne (Caroll) Deltener, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren, John Amen, Heather Allen, Shannon Deltener, Justin Deltener and Joshua Deltener; 11 great grandchildren.


Visitation: Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Memorial Service: Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at 6:30 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Burial: Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
