Dorothy P. (Phillips) Waters, 78, of Austin, Arkansas, was born October 3, 1930, at Austin, to Mack H. and Ethel (Finley) Phillips, and she died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Dorothy was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to cook and visit shut-ins as well as the sick. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Ivan Waters of Austin; two sons, Dale Waters and wife Tommie of Little Rock and Bruce Waters and wife Emily of Sherwood; daughter Susan Thigpen and husband Grant of Naples, Florida; five grandchildren, Eric Waters of Alma, Georgia, Julie Norris of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Bruce Waters, II of Van Buren, Arkansas, Brian Waters of Lowell, Arkansas, Stephen Thigpen of Naples, Florida; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlene Rowell and husband Rubert of Austin and Maxine Coker and husband Vernon of North Little Rock. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, El Paso, AR with burial in Sixteenth Section Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.
