Grieving the loss of a loved one is very natural but difficult. We have selected some helpful articiles as a resource to deal with grief.

Lending Library

We maintain a library of grief resource materials for use by the public. Our library includes well over 100 books, videotapes, audiotapes and brochures all authored or produced by nationally recognized authorities. Topics include general grief & bereavement, loss of a parent, death of a child, children & death, grief in the workplace, terminal illnesses, sudden & traumatic death, AIDS related deaths, suicide & homicide, and a section for professionals dealing with death as caregivers.

Holiday Memorial

The Christmas season can be a particularly difficult time for those who have recently experienced a death bringing with it conflicting emotions of joy and sorrow. We offer a program that can assist you in coping with the holidays and working through these emotions.

Since Christmas is a time for remembering, we have a service to honor those who have died during the past year. We invite families to attend this Service of Remembrance. Memory cards of the deceased are placed on the tree and available for families to take home with them to be used as tree ornaments, bookmarks or as a keepsake in the years to come. We also supply any additional cards needed for the family.

It is a beautiful and meaningful ceremony with the lighting of the Christmas Tree, a candle lighting ceremony with comforting thoughts and passages of remembrance.

Invitations are sent to the closest family member. We ask them to share this invitation with the entire family. The ceremony is usually held the second or third Sunday in December.
