| | | Mildred “Mernie” Carpenter 101 of Franklin formerly of Spencer passed away Wednesday January 4 at the Masonic Home.
Mernie was born February 29, 1904 in Iuka Kansas to John F. and Iva (Bristow) McAlister.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Spencer Christian Church.
Two sons John Carpenter of Spencer, Max Carpenter of Muncie, and one daughter Lavon Carpenter of Spencer survive Mernie. She has thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven Great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Her husband Claude Carpenter, son Vey Carpenter, daughter Bettie MacMorran and brother Terry McAlister precede her in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 7, at 10:30 A.M. at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, with Rev. Cleon Wright officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Saturday 8:30 A.M. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Masonic Home Foundation in care of the funeral home
