Rose Edna Camden, 103 year old resident of Spencer, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Owen Valley Health Campus. She was born February 22, 1902 in Lyons, Indiana to Edward and Cora (Rollison) Miller.

Rose was a long time member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she led the Church’s Ladies Aid Society for years. Rose was well known for her quilting and lap blanket projects for patients in area nursing care facilities. Rose had worked as a telephone operator and pharmacy assistant in Indianapois during her young adult years. She and her husband Robert Chambers reared two foster chikdren, Leonard and David Minnick. Rose returned to Spencer in the late 1950’s at the time of her husband’s death. She later married Harley Camden and resided on their New Hope farm. Following their retirement from the farm they returned to Spencer.

Rose is survived by her niece Doris Gibson Vaughan and husband Charles of Fort Wayne, Grand nephews Gordon Gibson and wife Linda of Bloomington, Gary Gibson of Greenwood, Mark Vaughan and wife Paula of Evanston, Il, Evan Vaughn and Joan of North Manchester and Carol Minnick of West Lafayette, and Stanley Minnick and wife Jo of Monon.

Graneside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 19th, at the River Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contribution may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in care of West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home of Spencer
Rose was a graduate of Litten High School in 1919, a member of the New Hope Baptist.
