Sybil Butcher 68 of Spencer, died at her residence Monday, May 15, 2006. She was born on September 1, 1937 in Spencer, IN to Paris and Esther (White) Withem. She was a 1955 graduate of Spencer High School, member of the Spencer Eastern Star, and retired in 2002 from Boston Scientific where she had been a buffer. Sybil was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and Christian.
She is survived by her husband James Butcher, one son Brian Butcher of Spencer, her mother Esther Withem of Spencer, stepfather Jack Withem, of Spencer, four brothers, Pete (Teleatha) Withem, Steve (Cindy) Withem, Tim Withem all of Spencer, and Joel (Jaunita) Withem of Bryan, TX, three sisters Nona Mobley of Spencer, Alice Huff of Bloomington, and Becky Withem of Spencer, two grandchildren Kelly and Michael Butcher of Spencer, and a brother-in-law Jade (Gail) Butcher of Gosport. Her father and one sister Cheryl Newforth precede her.
Services will be Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, with Pastor Joel Withem officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17 from 4-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the family % the funeral home.
