Mary E. Deckard 67 of Spencer passed away Thursday, June 15, 2006 at her residence.
Mary was born August 20, 1938 in Gate City, Virginia to William H. and Stella (Jones) Roberts. She retired in 2002 from Big Red Liquors Corporate office.
Mary is survived by her husband Phillip Deckard, two daughters, Debra L Sturgell-Jones, Barbara L. Sturgell, both of Spencer, brother Bill Roberts, of Gosport, three sisters Gladys Shelton of Kingsport, TN., Shirley Heidrick, Loretta Hogan both of Gosport, and four grandchildren, Sarah and Duane Coffman of Bloomington, Tyler Hammond of Spencer, Stephine Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Michael White of Bloomington. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son James Anthony Sturgell, and brother-in-law Ross Shelton
Mary was a member of the American Legion Post 18 auxilary in Bloomington, life time member of the Spencer VFW 1405, and the Moose Lodge 1005 of Bloomington.
Funeral services will be Monday June 19, 2006 at 7:30 P.M. at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Brother David Beecham officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until service time. Burial will be Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Hudson Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Owen County Humane Society, American Cancer Society, or Hospice of Bloomington in care of the funeral home
