James U. Cradick 81 of Spencer passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006 at The Residence at McCormick’s Creek. He was born May 24, 1925 in Owen County, IN to John A. and Mary M. (Carpenter) Cradick. Mr. Cradick was a Gosport High School graduate with the class of 1944, a WW II Navy Veteran, a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, a 25 year Moose member at Greencastle #1592, 10 year member of the Clay Township Fire Department and a member of the Spencer American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda M. (Wilson) Cradick, two sons Stephen (Peggy) Cradick of Spencer, Stan Cradick of AL, a brother Johnny Cradick of Franklin, a sister Cathryn Parrish of Spencer, four grandchildren, three step grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Madonna Tansy , a daughter-in-law, Teresa Cradick, and a grandson Matthew Cradick.
Funeral services for Mr. Cradick will be Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Pastors Dick Poff and Diane Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 4-8 PM and Wednesday 8:30 AM until time of service. The Spencer American Legion and VFW will provide military graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church % the funeral home.
