Richard E. Close 77 of Spencer passed away at his residence January 10, 2007. He was born in Spencer December 9, 1929 to Neal Asher and Laura Faye (Christy) Close. Richard is a graduate of Spencer High School and attended a year a college. He retired after 35 years at RCA in Bloomington as an electrical tech and was a member of the Bloomington Moose Lodge.
Survivors include one son Gary (Cathy) Close of Elgin, TX, four daughters Elaine Dwigans of Freedom, Paula Close-Phillips, Terri L. (Joe) Griffin, and Michelle E. Hunsicker all of Bloomington, a sister Peggy Abbott of Mooresville, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded by his wife Evelyn (Johnson) Close, a sister Norma Miller, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 15, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Charles Evans officiating at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. A burial will follow at Gross Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Monday two hours prior to the service.
