Mary A. Casida 89 of Cloverdale, IN passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at
The Waters in Greencastle, IN. She was born October 12, 1917 in Eminence, IN to Emil E. and Nora (Balay) Ogles. She was a 1936 graduate of Eminence High School, a long time member of the Milgrove Methodist Church, and helped run the family turkey farm for many years. Mrs. Casida was known for her volunteer work in the genealogy department of the Putman County Library and had published a book on the Casida family history.
She is survived by two sons Ralph (Fay) Casida of Cloverdale, Michael (Patsy) Casida of Rapides Station, LA, four daughters Mary (Renos) Casida McKamey of Cloverdale, Sheila (Jim) Casida Reeves of Columbus, IN, Alicia (Harvey) Casida Shaw of Columbus, Martha N. Casida of Cloverdale, a sister Lelia D. Collin of Tampa, FL, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 7, 2007, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, IN. Rev. L.D. Payton will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Belle Union, IN. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the church c/o the funeral home.
