Melinda S. Freeman 57 of Whitehall passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born August 24, 1949 in Bloomington to Gene and Mildred (Adkins) Carpenter. Mrs. Freeman was s 1967 graduate of Spencer High School. She worked at Cook Inc. for thirty years and the last few as a supervisor. She enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Richard “Rick” Freeman, son Alan (Teresa) Phillips of Whitehall, stepdaughters Julie (Joe) Daniel of Spencer, LeeAnn (Darrin) Hupp of Bedford, brother Danny Carpenter of Spencer, sister Cindy Bowling of Spencer and five grandchildren.
Melinda is preceded in death by her parents and son Jeremy Phillips.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 11, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Ray Unger and Bro. Todd Durnil will officiate. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Whitehall. Visitation will be 2-6 PM Sunday, June 10, 2007.
