Frances G. Baumgartner, 93, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009 at The Residence at McCormick's Creek. She was born September 12, 1914 in Owen County to Eli and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Miller. She was a 1932 graduate of Spencer High School. Frances was a homemaker and mother. She had been a member of the Progressive Homemakers Club, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, a 4-H leader, secretary of the Fair Board, a member of the Spencer Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Spencer Church of Christ.
Mrs. Baumgartner is survived by a son, Gary (Janice) Baumgartner of Wabash, two daughters; Martha "Susie" (Douglas) Avery of Indianapolis and Barbara (Dave) Brinson of Spencer, five grandchildren; Bradley (Tara) Brinson, Gayle (OT) Wright, Paul (Crystal) Brinson, Andrew (Heather) Baumgartner and Kate Baumgartner and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Baumgartner in 1996, two brothers, Harry C. Miller and GW "Wink" Miller and a sister Lena Mabel Schneider.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Bro. Gary Fiscus and Don Rader will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Tuesday and 9am until service time on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
