She was born October 4, 1948 to George V. Hiers and Vivian (Hunt) Powell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and the outdoors. Mrs. Riley is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Locke (Anthony) of Gosport, three sons William Riley, Timothy Riley, and Kevin Riley (Angela) all of Gosport, a brother Dan Luther Morrall of Georgia, two sisters Brenda Valentine of Walterboro, SC, Cindy Lenoir of Charleston, SC and 22 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband William Riley, her parents, and a brother William “Bo” Hiers. A funeral mass will be 10am, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Spencer. Burial will follow at Gosport Cemetery. Father Bill Ehalt will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
