Ann Franklin, 74, of Spencer, passed away at her residence on Sunday, July 19, 2009. She was born July 26, 1934 in Loudon, Tennessee to Fred and Carrie (Brown) Akins. She worked for Paul Watts, maintaining his home and office. Ann was a member of the Spencer First Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, inside and out.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by her husband of 54 years, Warren D. Franklin, a son, Randy Franklin of Bloomington, a brother, Larry Akins of Loudon, Tennessee, and three sisters, Ethel Dawn of Indianapolis, Gladys Melton of New Palestine, and Freida Rogge of Hustonville, Kentucky, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Spencer First Baptist Church. Rev. Shannon Benham will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home and Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
