Robert L. Herrington, 77 of Spencer, IN passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Freedom, IN to Jess and Julia (Keller) Herrington on August 27, 1931. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in construction and was a farmer. Robert was a member of the Spencer VFW.
Mr. Herrington is survived by his wife Barbara “Bobbie Jean” (Bayer) Herrington, three daughters Sharan (Ken) Witte of Albuquerque, NM, Donna Herrington and Beth Herrington, both of Spencer, three brothers Everett Herrington of Worthington, Jerry Herrington of Gosport, Charles Herrington of Martinsville, a sister Barbara Sheese of Freedom, four grandchildren Sarah Fenton, Larry Witte, Wendy Ames, and Jared Witte and one great grandchild Mackenzie Fenton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11am at Pleasant Bethel Cemetery. Brother Billy Williams will officiate. Military Rites will be provided by the Spencer American Legion and the Spencer VFW Posts. Services are provided by West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
